2007 STALLION
SERVICE CONTRACT
There will be one contract for each mare. Return original along with
photocopy of mare's papers. No mare will be accepted on ranch without
photocopy front and back of papers, a signed contract and the booking
fee.
I hereby agree to breed the mare named below to your stallion, Takin
on Shawne 3984793 and to pay the agreed stud fee in full on the
day the mare leaves ranch, subject to the following conditions:
1. I agree that said mare is healthy and in sound breeding condition.
I will submit a certificate of health executed by a qualified veterinarian
indicating a clean culture verifying the condition of said mare to
be as above represented. Such certificate to be issued not more than
five days prior to the time that said mare is to be delivered for
servicing. Mare is to have a negative Coggins dated within last six
months.
2. Subject to the approval of Haugen Ranch I shall have the option
of substituting for the mare herein described another mare owned by
me. I shall request approval from Haugen Ranch of such substitution
at least fifteen (15) days prior to the time said mare is to be delivered
for servicing.
3. It is further agreed that should your stallion die or become unfit
for service before serving my mare, or if the mare named in this contract,
dies or becomes unfit to be bred, then this contract is and shall
be null and void.
4. Haugen Ranch shall not be liable or responsible for any disease,
accident or injury to my mare, and I shall not be responsible or liable
for any disease, accident or injury to your stallion. All reasonable
precautions are to be taken for the care of my mare.
5. A non refundable chute/booking fee of $ 250.00 will accompany this
contract. All checks are made payable to Haugen Ranch. An additional
fee of $10.00 per day wet or $8.00 per day dry for boarding of mare
is agreed upon and is due before mare leaves Haugen Ranch. If special
services are wanted a price will be set by Haugen Ranch.
6. I agree to pay the remainder stud fee of $500.00 on the day the
mare LEAVES the ranch.
7. It is agreed that owner shall be liable for necessary veterinary
services rendered to the mare and/or foal as Haugen Ranch, its agents,
or employees shall solely determine. Charges for veterinary services
shall also be due and payable monthly and before re-delivery of the
mare and/or foal to the owner. A special service package is available
through the attending Veterinarian.
8. Haugen Ranch agrees to exercise reasonable diligence to settle
the mare up to and including the 31st day of July of the breeding
year. In the event the mare shall not settle, the mare owner shall
not be responsible to pay the balance of the stud fee.
9. The mare will be pregnancy checked at 21 days after breeding and
if not in foal can be
returned at 30 days. At no more than 90 days, an additional pregnancy
exam is required
by a qualified Vet. If mare proves not in foal, and a satisfactory
veterinary certificate to
that effect is presented, arrangements shall be made for immediate
return of mare for
rebreeding. If this occurs after the Stallion Book is closed the mare
can be returned the
following year.
10. In the event that the mare aborts or if the foal does not stand
and nurse, and the stud fee, veterinary charges and mare care charges
are fully paid, it is agreed that the owner may return the mare for
breeding during the following breeding season and no stud fee will
be charged for subsequent breeding. To be entitled to such subsequent
breeding, the owner must deliver to Haugen Ranch, certification by
a licensed veterinarian attesting that the mare aborted or that the
foal failed to stand and nurse, and such delivery shall be made within
ten (10) days of the date that the mare aborts or the foal is born.
This return privilege is void if the mare is placed back in performance
training and/or showing after breeding. The return privilege is not
transferable without permission of Haugen Ranch.
11. Stallion Service Certificates will be issued when foal stands,
nurses and all fees and bills have been paid in full. The payment
of all fees and bills and a live foal are the conditions precedent
for the issuance of such certificates.
12. All mares and foals must be on a regular shot/worming program
prior to breeding.
13. Mares that are not halter broke or vicious mares will not be accepted.
